Their chef-driven dishes feature locally sourced ingredients, making every bite a celebration of Lowcountry cuisine. From crispy fried green tomatoes to perfectly seared fish, each dish is a masterpiece in its own right. Speaking of the seasonal specials, it’s clear that Grace & Grit knows how to keep things fresh. I recently visited during their summer menu rollout, and I was impressed with the variety of new dishes they introduced. • Oh me! This place was delicious!!! It’s a must try if you are in the area! I had the special of the night which was pumpkin swordfish , tarragon and basil grits and vegetables. My husband had the southern friend chicken with grits. Of course to start we had chicken livers and a Caesar salad

  • Was looking for a place to have dinner my last night in Charleston. I was planning on going downtown but as I was staying in Patriot’s Point area, decided to see what was around. I came upon G&G on search, read the reviews and checked the menu. Looked good so decided to go. I’ve worked in the food and beverage industry for most of my life and managed casual to gourmet. This was one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time! The Fried Oysters Rockefeller app would have made a great meal on its own. It’s a dish you can’t describe, just have to try it. The quality and taste of all the ingredients were perfect! Could eat that every day… I intended to have a seafood night, but saw there was a Smoked Beef Rib on the menu. I haven’t had a good one since I was in Texas a couple years ago, so decided to try that at my server’s recommendation. Wow!! Another home run dish. Not only was it sizable, I didn’t need to use my knife as it was cooked to perfection, super tender and absolutely delicious. Once again, all the elements on the plate were perfect together. Unfortunately, there was no room for dessert. I had eyed the Coconut Cream Grit Brûlée had there been. I will have to wait until back in the area again to come dine here, but if you have the chance to do so, you will not be disappointed! Come with like 4 people so you can try different things. Also, you won’t need to deal with all the hassles of navigating downtown parking, crowds, etc. What a great find…

  • Upon visiting Grace & Grit in the fair town of Mount Pleasant, I was most heartily impressed. The grit flight, a veritable sampler of the South’s finest fare, was a triumph — the red beans and rice grits, in particular, stirred my spirit like a bugle call at dawn. The breads were of fine size and splendid flavor, a worthy companion to the meal. The shrimp and grits entrée was of exceptional quality, seasoned with the kind of care one might expect from a devoted Southern cook tending to Sunday supper. We took our leisure upon the patio, where the breeze was kind, and the service rendered to us was as genteel and attentive as any I have known. A fine establishment indeed. I shall return with haste.

  • 9/13/2025 decided to try this place for breakfast. The orange juice was $5 for a very small glass!!! That was not a good start. I know it's Charleston but that was a rip off. I ordered the flight of grits, two scrambled eggs and the sausage and gravy biscuit. The flight of grits was delicious! The grits with gouda cheese was my favorite. The pesto grits were interesting but tasty. The jalapeño grits were delicious, get them if you like spicy. I was disappointed in the biscuit with gravy. The biscuit needed to be split in half and it was too dry. The scrambled eggs were delicious! Some of the best I've had, one suggestion, don't salt the eggs let the customer salt them. They were on the verge of being too salty for my taste. I would definitely go back for the grits! We also got the Johnny cakes, they were interesting not my favorite. My girlfriend loved them though. Get bigger glasses for orange juice! You can see the small glass in the Johnny cakes pic.

  • What a lovely surprise! This special place did not come up on my searches over the past years when visiting. Decided to give it a try as it was close to my hotel! Food excellent and nice menu. Sat at the bar as was traveling alone and service terrific. Atmosphere classy, warm and cozy. Everyone that worked there seemed happy and engaged. Will definitely return!!! Yum on the blackened scallops!

  • If you like grits at all you must come here! But beware you may never cook grits the same again. The grits flight and oysters Rockefeller had me blown away! The the Golden Tile fish over butterbeans and cream corn was superb!

  • Believe the hype. Ok. I know I am a little free and easy with the ratings. My wife tells me all the time. 5 stars is only for “ when nothing could possibly been better”. Well. We had an Old Fashioned. A wine. Two Manhattan's. The bread basket appetizer and the clams. All highly recommended. And nothing could have been better. Staff is very friendly and will tailor your mixed drink to your budget. You want a $15 dollar drink or a $50 one ? They got you. Will be very happy to come back. .
